LoOs is a 19-year-old Brooklyn based graffiti artist. His positive attitude and constant desire to create makes him an inspiration to young artists throughout the city. LoOs became a role model to his brothers and sisters a few years ago when his mother fell into a coma, the cause unknown. The anger caused by this was so intense that loOs knew he had to channel it into something positive. He took all his pent up emotion and began writing. This became an outlet and he encouraged those around him to do the same. Now loOs provides insight and encouragement to kids that may be going through the same situation. Through art he finds healing and the drive to work hard and motivate others to do the same.
K: How did you get involved with graffiti?

C: It’s started mainly as a hobby but as I got older I got more into it. When my Mom went into a coma it motivated me to do something to get my anger out. The only way I could sort out my feelings out was to put it on paper.

K: Every artist’s work is very personalized. Do you feel like the energy that is in graffiti art is an expression of what is happening on the streets?

C: Yeah, definitely. Everywhere there are different problems. You may not think much of something when you see it but that energy speaks. For example if you’re doing a real personal piece a
